Berlin Today Award: Big Opportunity for Young Directors Short film competition, part of the Berlinale Talent Campus, will be under the patronage of German foreign minister Dr. Frank-Walter Steinmeier in 2009. "My Wall" - the theme of the next Berlin Today Award The BERLIN TODAY AWARD - the short film competition sponsored since 2003 by Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg within the framework of the Berlinale Talent Campus - is entering its next round with a new purpose. In 2009, to mark the 20th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin wall, the upcoming edition of the competition will focus on the theme "My Wall". The top five short film ideas are to be realised by five young production companies from all over Germany. As a new component of the competition, the young directors are invited to Berlin for a one-month project and development phase (residency). Dear Friends of Film, We would like to invite you and/or your colleagues to apply for *The Talent Press*, a project of the Berlinale Talent Campus, Goethe-Institute, and FIPRESCI (the International Federation of Film Critics). Young film critics and film journalists will be invited to Berlin to report on the films at the 58th Berlin International Film Festival (February 07 -17, 2008) and on the events of the Berlinale Talent Campus (February 9 - 14, 2008).
