Kathmandu International Mountain Film Festival 2008

It is our pleasure to inform you that the sixth annual and competitive
event the Kathmandu International Mountain Film Festival (KIMFF) will
be organized by Himal Association from December 11-15, 2008. By
screening some of the most recent and exciting films about mountain
issues, environment, cultures, communities and societies from various
corners of the world along with various other activities during the
festival KIMFF seeks to demonstrate the complexity and diversity of
mountain life.

We are, at the moment, soliciting entries for the festival, and we
hope you can participate by sending relevant films you may have
directed or produced in the last three years. We will also rely on you
to spread the word about KIMFF.

Attached you will find the entry form for KIMFF 2008. They are also
available at our website along with other details. Visit us at
www.himalassociation.org/kimff.

The submission deadline for the entries is August 15, 2008.

Interested filmmakers are requested to mark the following timeline:

January 1, 2005: Films made after this date are eligible

August 15, 2008: Last date for submission of entry

October 1, 2008: Final selection of entries

October 30, 2008: Last date for submission of final print

December 11 - 15, 2008: Holding of KIMFF 2008

Kelebekler Vadisi logo yarışması Kelebekler Vadisi, logosunu arıyor! 8 Eylül’e kadar sürecek olan logo yarışmasının birincisi, vadide “her şey dahil” bir tatil kazanıyor. Başta dünyada nadir olarak rastlanan Kaplan Kelebeği(euplagia quadripunctaria)(ing.Jersey Tiger) kelebeği başta olmak üzere pek çok kelebek türüne evsahipliği yapan ve %100 doğal yaşamın mekanı olan Kelebekler Vadisi, kendisini en iyi anlatan logoyu arıyor. 23 Temmuz’da başlayan logo yarışması 8 Eylül’e kadar sürecek. Yarışmanın sonucu ise 15 Eylül’de yine Kelebeklervadisi.azbuz.com adresinden açıklanacak. Teknik kurallar http://kelebeklervadisi.azbuz.com adresinde yapılan logo yarışmasına katılmak için, aday logoları sitedeki “Logo Yarışması” isimli fotoğraf albümüne yüklemek yeterli oluyor. Bir kişinin en fazla 3 çalışmayla katılabildiği yarışmada siteye yüklenecek logoların 600 x 500 piksel içinde ortalanmış 72 dpi çözünürlükte, jpeg, gif veya png formatında olması gerekiyor. EUROPA NOSTRA AWARDS 2008 Call for Entries and Entry Forms Deadlines for Entries: 15 August 2007 (Category 2) and 15 September (Categorie 1, 3 and 4) The “Europa Nostra Awards” are granted annually to identify and promote best practices in the conservation of tangible cultural heritage, to stimulate the exchange of knowledge and experience throughout Europe , to enhance public awareness and appreciation of European cultural heritage, and to encourage further exemplary initiatives through the Power of Example. Outstanding heritage achievements will be awarded in the following categories: Conservation Research Dedicated Service by Individuals or Organisations Education, Training and Awareness-Raising Subject to the confirmation of the continuation of Europa Nostra’s partnership with the European Commission, the most outstanding achievements may also be awarded a monetary Prize of € 10 000 in each category in addition to Awards.
