Please see below for the announcement in Turkish. Summary: International Republican Institute organizes an essay contest for the young aged between 18 and 25. The topic is “For the 100th Anniversary of Turkish Republic, Turkey’s Role in the Modern World from the youth’s perspective: Relations with neighbors, the E.U. and the U.S.A - Towards a more active policy; obstacles and opportunities”. Essays will be evaluated by an independent jury, which consists of Dr. Sedat Laciner (Director of USAK), Sanli Topcuoglu (Veteran Ambassador), Dr. Zeynep Dagi (MP-AKP) and Enis Tutuncu (MP-CHP), and the results will be announced in December. The winners of the contest will have an opportunity to attend a Youth Leadership Academy in Ankara and go to Brussels to pass on their demands and opinions to European leaders in January 2008.
